Momesso Seed Treatment is highlighted by Embrapa

O Industrial Seed Treatment (IST) has been gaining more and more ground among companies seeking excellence in their products. In this scenario Momesso, a pioneer in the production of care machines, has recently made a name for itself. In addition, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) recognized the brand as the one most used by soy producers who apply this technique.

Research and development bulletin

O Embrapa Research and Development Bulletin, named “Adoption of the treatment seeds of soybeans in the industry”, presented important information on the use of TSI during the 2022/2023 grain harvest.

In addition, the survey evaluated the responses of 61 institutions related to the Industrial Seed Treatment. During the study, the team considered the different types of products used, which broadened their understanding of the practices adopted in the sector.

Institutions that took part in the survey

During the research, the Embrapa analyzed the responses of 61 institutions collected through a structured questionnaire.

In addition, the participants showed significant diversity. Among them, 73.8% were seed companies (45 companies), 24.6% were cooperatives (15 institutions) and 1.6% corresponded to a state-owned company (1 representative). To ensure more comprehensive results, Embrapa included companies located in 12 different states, which increased the representativeness of the data collected.

Products observed during treatment

Among soy treatment products observed in the research, it was possible to identify that the companies used specific elements to achieve better results.

In addition, the data shows that companies treated 93.5% of seeds with soybean insecticides, 92% applied fungicides, 40.3% added nutrients, 29.4% used nematicides, 24% incorporated inoculants and 23.2% opted for biostimulants. These figures reflect the wide variety of solutions adopted by the companies, which seek to guarantee both the quality of the seeds and the success of the crops.

Equipment most used at TSI

The Embrapa bulletin highlighted Momesso as the brand of equipment most used by companies that carry out industrial seed treatment.

In addition, the survey revealed: “Among the brands that manufacture and provide machines for the TSI, Momesso Indústria de Máquinas presented the majority of the equipment used (...), with 68% of frequency in the answers”, reinforcing the company's leadership in the sector.
